Make this extension compatible with youtube alternative front-end "Invidious" #23

So, it would be interesting if this extension worked on youtube alternative front-end, such as the project Invidious, which allows people to access youtube without all the bloat and telemetry and yadda yadda.

Invidious was shut down in September 2020 with a peak of 35k users, does it still work and does anyone still use it?

The project is open source, anyone can run their instance, I assume the case you mentioned but one instance being shutdown. But there are several instances and the project is still active until this very day and lots of people use, it's way better front-end than youtube native one.
