[lilac] device doesn't wake up from sleep #257

Closed VictorRyabov closed 5 years ago

VictorRyabov commented 5 years ago

Platform: yoshio Device: lilac Kernel version: 4.9 Android version: 9 OEM version:v3,4

Description my lilac doesn't wake up from deep sleep (I have to use 3 buttons to turn off and and on again). If the music player is playing smth keeping the device awake all works fine. Can anyone please confirm this issue?

Symptoms Device won't wake up from sleep using power button or any other way.

How to reproduce Install aosp with latest oem, leave in sleep for 3 to 20 minutes (may vary)

russel5 commented 5 years ago

Yep, can confirm that

bartcubbins commented 5 years ago

The same on maple

lATAl commented 5 years ago

Same on poplar

VictorRyabov commented 5 years ago

@jerpelea Here are 2 logcats from working device into deep sleep(not responding to anything). Please, have a look. I hope this helps to resolve the issue. Thank you! logs_lilac.zip

VictorRyabov commented 5 years ago

I've also managed to take a dmesg from normal state into deep sleep 1.log

VictorRyabov commented 5 years ago

@jerpelea just checking if the logs are any good for you to address the issue or should I take new ones?

jerpelea commented 5 years ago

please wait for v4

VictorRyabov commented 5 years ago

please wait for v4

@jerpelea unfortunately, the issue persists on freshly built aosp with oem v4

sjllls commented 5 years ago

Please rebuild , this issue has been solved on poplar, build with prebuild kernel on 2019.1.5. OEM v4

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

Nothing changed for Yoshino/Lilac (rebuild just now, oem v4) self-built kernel

russel5 commented 5 years ago

@djselbeck never listen people like @sjllls this thread for LILAC not other phone. And nothing changes since oem v4 was released

papjul commented 5 years ago

According to other users above, maple and poplar were affected, so all yoshino platform, not just lilac. @sjllls is using a prebuilt kernel (I don't know where you can find it?) instead of self built so maybe there is a fix in the prebuilt kernel that was not committed in the kernel tree that we build?

russel5 commented 5 years ago

This guy @sjllls few days ago wrote that he have working camera on poplar. For lilac camera not working at right time. Today he open a new thread where posted that camera not working on poplar. And im not think that prebuild kernel fix this issue. And im not trust this person.

Nothing need to say, just watch this video. Camera donesn't work on poplar after booting ? https://youtu.be/oxvPGbAMTos

From beginning I only say poplar camera will disconnect after screen-off on my 2019.1.4's build. Camera works fine on the 2018.12.24 build of SonyAospteam. Please don't tamper with my words. I will let poplar sleep 4 hours to comfirm the sleep dead issue again. Waitting for the next video. @russel5 @djselbeck @VictorRyabov @papjul

sjllls commented 5 years ago

XZ1 run AOSP I built on 2019.1.4 for 5 hours , no sleep dead. It's run with a prebuild kernel. Do you still believe in poplar own the same bugs as lilac? Video uploaded: https://youtu.be/TGuzAsTtZ5E

jerpelea commented 5 years ago

@sjllls @VictorRyabov

VictorRyabov commented 5 years ago

I'm sorry I can't post output as I've moved to stock because of this bug. Maybe @djselbeck can post it for you.

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

Sorry I only have the XZ1c (lilac) and also not reachable at the moment.

russel5 commented 5 years ago

@djselbeck interesting. you are on 47.1.A.12.270 with the new BL while I am on 47.1.A.16.20 with an old BL LA1.1_O_82

Can you please try the old SW

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

Yes, I can try if it is safe to downgrade (and if I can find a laptop with windows on it at work :-D )

jerpelea commented 5 years ago

:) thanks

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

I am now running (applied service: 47.1.A.16.20_Customized_NOBA 1311-0104):

$ fastboot getvar all (bootloader) unlocked:yes (bootloader) off-mode-charge:0 (bootloader) charger-screen-enabled:0 (bootloader) battery-soc-ok:yes (bootloader) battery-voltage:4295 (bootloader) version-baseband:1307-7511_47.1.A.12.270 (bootloader) version-bootloader:1306-5035_X_Boot_MSM8998_LA1.1_O_82 (bootloader) variant:MSM UFS (bootloader) partition-type:cache:ext4 (bootloader) partition-size:cache: 0x17C00000 (bootloader) partition-type:userdata:ext4 (bootloader) partition-size:userdata: 0x587D76000 (bootloader) partition-type:system:ext4 (bootloader) partition-size:system: 0x138800000 (bootloader) secure:no (bootloader) serialno:BH9084G59E (bootloader) serial:b3407d50 (bootloader) product:G8441 (bootloader) max-download-size:536870912 (bootloader) kernel:uefi

I do some testing if this issue still happens

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

The issue still exists. My device (lilac) is not waking up at the moment

jerpelea commented 5 years ago

Thanks for the clarification now that we have the same base it is easyer

oshmoun commented 5 years ago

https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel/pull/1880 would be great if anybody would test this on yoshino

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

Lilac with this applied looks promising so far. I report back later after more testing

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

Unfortunately it still freezes

oshmoun commented 5 years ago

@djselbeck thanks! so need to switch wakegpio as well, will update the pr

stefanhh0 commented 5 years ago

I am using lilac as well and as a workaround I've installed a wakelock tool that prevents the cpu from falling into deep sleep.

oshmoun commented 5 years ago

please try again now that a possible fix has been merged https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel/pull/1884

kholk commented 5 years ago

The issue has been resolved with https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel/pull/1884

This can closed. Thanks everyone for reporting and testing the various proposed solutions.

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

My lilac device will still freeze to death with the patch applied. But after trying to power on the device it is not reacting but rebooting after a few seconds.

Also tried a factory reset, I have tried it with airplane mode enabled, to prevent network related wakeupa

jerpelea commented 5 years ago

please flash fhe latest 47.1.a.x.x SW with flashtool, boot the device with a SIM then flash AOSP

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

Okay, thanks. I am installing 47.1.A.16.20 Customized_NOBA now. Reporting back after reflash with AOSP and everything. Thanks for all your hard work.

djselbeck commented 5 years ago

Works more stable for now. No freeze on device wake up anymore. One freeze and reboot after AOSP flash for now but seems to be unrelated to this issue. So it seems to be fixed now.

kholk commented 5 years ago

Great to hear that!
