API's and Soonaverse closed down!

This week we're approaching end of the platform support as discussed several weeks back.

There will have to be several events triggered to finalize closure of Soonaverse and all related API's as SoonLabs is no longer able to support cost of these services. We're not able to pay Google, Algolia's and so on bills therefore we're unable to keep the services up. There are no funds! Any team member has not received any salary since last year...Note, last year salary was always going towards dev team so other members were without salary during many months last year as well! We continued to cover operation costs up to now. This includes legal, accounting, infrastructure, taxes and so on. Even with these massive constrains we continually developed until the end of April this year to make everything open source and finalize L1 tooling we were asked to build back in 2021.

If any entity comes along by EOW we can handover Google project we're happy to do so. This entity would have to take over Google Cloud, Algolia and Github billing. SoonLabs is closing down and it's unable to receive cash to cover those bills. Those accounts must be handover to billing contacts on Google, Algolia and Github! If not, export of DB will be included in this issue for anyone to load the DB, set-up the ENV and turn on Soonaverse again.

This week we will trigger following:

Try to fix as many stuck transaction as we can (minting first, withdraw next)
Withdraw ALL L1 assets to user's validate address and unsold minted NFTs to space's address.
Shutdown all the services
Dump the database. This database will be available for anyone to download. Artists can pull out information about un-minted collections and mint the collections themselves. In the database, they will also be all transactional data. (i.e. who owns what, etc.). It'll be a full dump!
Soonaverse will be replaced with static page with shut down information.

I wish everyone all the best and I hope #IOTA / #SHIMMER will see activity and empowered community we saw back in early 2022. Soonaverse platform funded many projects in the #IOTA community through NFT marketplace. It was over $10m USD in a span of few months that all went to artists and projects owners. This includes delivering full integration into Stardust after that so these assets can exists on L1. SoonLabs didn't charge any fees! We're proud of that and glad too see many of these projects flourishing to continue drive #IOTA forward.

I'll continue to be cheerleader on the side and support #IOTA in my spare time when I can especially once IOTA 2.0 is live and L1 SC ready!

UPDATE Jul 7th 2024:

most "write" api's were turned off. Member login and withdrawn NFT are still enabled.
Taskforce (Izaya) helps to cover the infrastructure bill so Soonaverse can operate in it's current form.
most "stuck" transactions are being resolved any other stuck transaction will try to be resolved. This is continuous effort.
I've worked with Taskforce (Izaya) to figure out the best way to "mint" remaining assets so they don't have to mint through 3rd party. Those that artists decided not to mint for past two years ( don't ask me why ). Taskforce is working on securing resources to cover significant storage deposit and developer resource to write the "mass mint" script.
Last step in the process. MASS WITHDRAW of ALL L1 assets. This will happen before full shutdown..

UPDATE Jul 8th 2024:

all "write" api's were turned off.
mass mint of un-minted NFT collections will most likely proceed tomorrow morning. As mentioned above, artists had over two years to do that but didn't. We want to help users here so we decided to proceed on behalf of artists. There were two options:
- Option 1: Mint all NFTs within the Collection (including those that were not sold). Total cost ~90'000 IOTAs ($15'000 USD) in storage deposit. 330'000 NFTs.
- Option 2: Mint only sold NFTs within the Collection. Total Cost 17'000 IOTAs ($2'550 USD) in storage deposit. 87'000 NFTs.
- We've decided to go ahead with Option 2 because we have no way to get funds for Option 1. Artists can always mint the unsold NFTs directly on the L1 later. Artists can also do burn mechanism if they don't want their NFT on IOTA and want them instead on SHIMMER or EVM. We'll cover the cost out of pocket :'(
We'll proceed with MASS WITHDRAW of ALL L1 assets into users validated address.
Soonaverse will shutdown.

UPDATE Jul 11th 2024:

ALL NFT collections have been minted.
Most NFTs have been withdrawn. NFT's for members without validated address were not withdrawn (we don't know where to send them). See HUGE spike of traffic on the IOTA explorer. Amazing work @flyingrabbit-lab!!!
Soonaverse front-end was shutdown to reduce cost of some expensive services (such as Algolia). Soonaverse still operates basic "member" profile. Just type in https://soonaverse.com/member/ to load it! This is enabled because there are many users that have not validated their address. They will have to validate their address so NFT withdraw can be completed for them.

Navigate to your profile https://soonaverse.com/member/
Validate your IOTA or SMR Address

We will proceed with L1 asset withdraw in 3 days for all those members that have validated their address. Validate your address ASAP.

We'll withdraw additional NFTs for members that have validated their address as requested

UPDATE Jul 25th 2024:

Everything has been shutdown. Full PostgreSQL database dump excluding sensitive data and tangle data is downloadable here: https://github.com/soonaverse/app/tree/master/scripts/backups

SQL file has been zipped and split into multiple chunks so it can be uploaded on Github.

hola flyingraabbit-lab. no se si serán exitosas o no, pero entre todas ellas solo ha llegado un NFT de un punks, las demás aparecen como fallidas o yo no soy capaz de recureper, ni de ver esos NFTs y ya he perdido horas y horas intentandolas....., en cima me he confundido y la primera transacción que no soy capaz de recuperar ví que había costado el envio 0,32 IOTAS y me e intenté mandar esos 0,32 itotas que habían pagado por la transacción para ver si así podría recuperar cada NFT..., pero al mandarlo a esa dirección me confundí y en vez de 0,32 IOTAS ; mandé 32 IOTAS. y como te digo solo ha aparecido 1 NFT , las demás transacciones no soy capaz de recuperlos, o no sé como hacerlo, o han sido fallidas, tendrían que aparecer cada NFT igual que ha aparecido uno de los Punks que le había comprado a iotaPUNKS....., o me explicas como recuperarlos, por que ya estoy harto de intentar recuperlos en el explorador.....no soy capaz

apareceran como exitosas las transacciones pero no puedo abrir, ni ver ningún NFT , solo ha llegado 1 de los que compré a iotaPUNK los demás aparece al intentar abrirlos como que la transacción no se puede o ha fallado. os envío varias capturas de pantalla..., ya el tiempo perdido por recuperar esos NFTs que compré en Sonaverse y que nunca me dejó mandarlos a mi wallet de Firefly Shimmer...., intenté con una de las transacciones , la primera dinde ví que había costado 0.32 IOTAS, quise devolver a esa misma dirección desde mi Firefly de IOTA esos 0.32 IOTAS pero me equivoqué y mandé 32 Iotas....., sabes que a pesar valer ahora sobre 0.15 $ yo compré 2000 euros en IOTA en abril , mayo o primeros de junio y me valieron a 1.80 $. Como podrá ver y comprovar solo me ha llegado 1 NFT , todo lo demás no se puede abrir. espero que se me ayude. Saludos

First switch to English. Nobody here speaks Spanish. Second, reduce huge amount of text / comments and provide "example" of NFT on the Tangle that didn't come to your wallet. Provide NFT ID through IOTA / SHIMMER explorer. No screenshot but link to actual NFT you're missing. Thank you!

Again, please put together one concise comment with your issue with links to explorer. We don't really understand your issue and what you're asking for. Ideally, stop replying via EMAIL but go to github.

It is a screenshot on my Firefly Shimmer of the first transaction..., you can see the ID well and below on the left it could be read perfectly in English NFT. file is not reachable which translated means that the file is not reachable..., well like that all

Explorer clearly states that. We don't control the asset and it's in your wallet.

This has nothing to do with us. I think above issue you're experiencing is that image might not be properly pinned on IPFS. This is your / artists responsibility to pin those images so they can be retrieved them via IPFS. It seems Firefly can't load them hence the error. Images are NOT stored on Tangle. Reach out to IOTAPunk.

We used to run pinning service to help the community but we of course no longer run it due it's cost.

I will be able to contact iotaPunk on Twitter but apart from the 8 NFTs that I bought from him, I had also bought some more from other people..., those have not been sent to me from Soonaverse yet, I don't know how many NFTs are left part of iotaPunk

Again all your NFTs were withdrawn. If there is NFT that's missing, state it it's IDs. So far all NFTs you claimed to be missing are in your wallet. You seemed to be confused how everything works.

Are NFTs still being mass withdrawn? NFTs from below collections are minted, but don't seem to have arrived in verified addresses:

If Soonaverse member had validated address it was withdrawn into that address as described above.

Everything has been shutdown. Full PostgreSQL database dump excluding sensitive data and tangle data is downloadable here: https://github.com/soonaverse/app/tree/master/scripts/backups

SQL file has been zipped and split into multiple chunks so it can be uploaded on Github.
