Clean up available modules #100

Closed embolalia closed 12 years ago

embolalia commented 12 years ago

We have a number of modules we don't use, and we don't support. To start, I'm planning to remove everything currently listed under the "untested" section on the wiki, as well as the Hindi etymology module that got pulled from jenni. Comment if you have anything else we should remove.

fml, southpark, yp, woot, why, unicode (unless anything actually uses it)

embolalia commented 12 years ago

unicode appears to be used by url.py. More research is needed.

elad661 commented 12 years ago

What does it do, why do we need it as a module, and if it's a valuable code modules might require, shouldn't it be in tools.py? These are all things we need to figure out

embolalia commented 12 years ago

I'm also going to remove all bit.ly features, as well as the "last seen uri" stuff which we don't use.

lramati commented 12 years ago

there is another module related to a school. I don't remember what it is called, but that should get removed too. I think the module's name is the university's abbreviation.

embolalia commented 12 years ago

osu.py, and it's already removed.

embolalia commented 12 years ago

I may have closed this prematurely. I'm wondering if we should get rid of qask.py and the Uno features, and possibly also validate.py.

tyrope commented 12 years ago

qask can be done by dice.py now, in a way. and nobody ever used Uno... I'd say go for it.
