i could make a new background class that all the slides could use that can make and returns copies to be turned into the final display. and then update when any of the stuff has changed. could have an outdoors image and an indoors image. the outdoors one would try to match the clock icon in the web app.... and the indoor image should change based on day in room.

[ ] and it shows when the sun and/or moon are out
[ ] it can generate an image based on if it's day in the room (should have ambient light)
[ ] maybe they both include a shared background based on the day of week and month colors or something that would get generated like once a day (or just on load. that would do it)
[ ] other classes can access the same instance of the class (passed to their inits)
