I use the OpenSearch firefox startpage search - the one you get by right clicking in the address bar and clicking Add StartPage.

The search URL is https://www.startpage.com/sp/search?query=test+%21w&cat=web&pl=opensearch&language=english

This doesn't redirect to Wikipedia for me. It does redirect if I click in the on-page search bar on Startpage and press enter there.

This is because i didnt know startpage also uses /sp for searches and therefore this addon doesnt ask for permissions for this site. This should be an easy fix, but in the mean time until i have found time to do the Update you could maybe just search with: https://www.startpage.com/do/search

I can't seem to be able to add the /do search to Firefox unfortunately. I added the Firefox search bar here just so there's a visual indication of what I mean (the plus icon). I'll be okay for now anyway, it's not too much effort for me to repeat the search by pressing enter in the on-page search bar when I need it, and it's helping train me out of my habit of typing !g after every DDG search just to get something useful!
