This proposal seeks to raise 42 DOT for the SORA community to request the opening of the HRMP channel between the SORA Polkadot and Polkadot Asset Hub parachains.
Proposal Goals
The goal is for the SORA community to raise the funds to open the channel and then back the decision to open when the proposal is raised on OpenGov for Polkadot token holders to decide. There is a preconceived bias against SORAMITSU by Polkadot token holders, and raising funds from the community sets a precedent that the community has decided to open this channel. Therefore, any bias or pushback is effectively against all SORA token holders, not a specific network service provider.
Scope of Work
Raise the tokens required to open the HRMP channel on the SORA and Polkadot Asset Hub sides.
Participate actively in OpenGov to back the implementation.
Current Roadblocks and Barriers to Success
A lack of proactivity on behalf of the community (let them do it)
Negative bias from the Polkadot token holders due to personal issues that have exacerbated into political stances.
If the proposal is lost in governance, the tokens are lost. This puts community skin in the game.
Evaluation Metrics and Criteria
Mint the required funds
Fund the required accounts and make the HRMP channel open proposal
Make the proposal on Polkadot OpenGov
Follow up with the process until successful implementation
Whitelist the memecoins that make having this HRMP connection useful.
Submission Requirements
The council and community should reach an agreement on the process and have consensus on the consequences.
