Receptor level viz: For 1RxallCL and 1CLxallR, can you add a sort by magnitude vs. cell line/receptor option as you have for the growth factor viz? Include the phospho readouts (AU) in the 1RxallCL view. Visually, we think there needs to be some sort of demarcation between the enlarged plots on the left/middle of the main part of the page and the thumbnail plots on the right part of the main page. Likewise, it might be nice to demarcate the two enlarged plots. Perhaps subtle boxes around the three sections? Related to this, we think it is too busy and confusing to have two arbitrary plots as soon as a user arrives on the page. Perhaps default to one plot only on the left with a visible indication that a second plot can be added for comparison (e.g. an empty box with text that says “Click a thumbnail (right) or use the drop-down menu (left) to select a second plot for comparison.”). In terms of functionality: We would like the left and middle plots to be independently selectable and clearable using the thumbnails and other tools, as they are using the lefthand drop-down selectors. In general, we would like to align those two nav paths as much as possible. By default, the left plot should be static and any new plots (activated by clicking on a thumbnail) would be added on the right (always replacing each other on the right as new thumbnails are clicked). The user then could clear the left plot, after which the plot on the right would move to the left section. All new plots then again would show up on the right (each new one replacing the former). The user also should be able to clear the right plot and revert to having only one plot displayed. Related to this, we would to have a more prominent visual cue than the current gray box that indicates that changing the drop-down selector results in a different thumbnail being enlarged. Maybe a more prominent box appearing around the thumbnail briefly or it enlarging in the righthand grid briefly? Or anything else along those lines that more visually unites/aligns the functioning of those two nav paths. The fact that selecting a different thumbnail automatically changes the drop-down menu to match is a great feature along these lines, so we just are looking for something a little more eye-catching in the thumbnail section when one is instead changing the drop-down selectors. Bar highlighting: Could these be ‘click to set’ rather than ‘mouse over to set’? The former would be more stable as someone moves about the page and potentially slides over the other plot by mistake (which wipes out a ‘mouse over to set’ highlight). Given the abstractness of these plots, we are back to yearning for an indication of the actual values of the bars. Could these be added not as mouse-over tool tips but instead as text positioned perhaps just to the right of the plot that comes up when you mouse over/click on a bar? We want to avoid visual clutter that might occur if these values were overlaid on the plot but still have the info there. Originally, we wanted clicking on a cell line name to direct a user to a cell line detail page (or overlay, as noted above). Is this still possible (even with the ‘click to set’ functionality requested above)?
