I tried redesigning the D2F switch into SB_CW2_Main_Buddy_Cutting_with_ECAS.stp
.
Switch now triggers when inserting filament.
Printed a test piece:
Now I notice that the steel ball bearing turns when moving with PLA filament, this could wear down the plastic switch notch. Could it be that SB_CW2_Main_Buddy_Cutting_with_D2F_ECAS.stl
should be used with a microswitch with a shortened metal lever to prevent wear?
Redesigned SB_CW2_Main_Buddy_Cutting_with_ECAS.stp
again, now an Omron D2F-L (micro switch with lever) fits. Less resistance with this design than the previous one with the 5.55mm steel ball directly on the switch notch.
Going to print this full size and see how this functions.
When long term experience has been made I will post my modification somewhere.
Hi!
I printed
SB_CW2_Main_Buddy_Cutting_with_D2F_ECAS.stl
, took a D2F Omron switch from an unused LDO klicky probe kit and used a 5.55mm 304 stainless steel ball, but the switch does not trigger reliably. When wiggling the filament sometimes the switch triggers.I must be missing something obvious, do you have any pointers on what could be wrong?
