What kind of stack to use for the daemon and ansible wrapper ?

PHP, minion
python2 or 3
Node.js

And for the GUI?

jquery, backbone/marionette, jquery UI and bootstrap
jquery, backbone, react.js, zurb foundation
polymer

I would go with anisble wrapper: PHP, minion. and GUI: jquery, backbone/marionette, jquery UI and bootstrap. Since we know them better than the rest of the options and we widely use it, it will be easier for the team to contribute.
