Resources in /static returning 500 errors #58

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Navigate to a site using appengine site creator  

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to see static resources loaded, such as images, css and javascript. 
However anything in /static/ does not load.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
