There are some problems related to Windows weirdness.
I'm using a VM host mount of the $SKA/chandra_models (from my Mac), and for some reason it thinks the file mode of a couple of files is different (the executable bit), resulting in a dirty repo. There is a git fileMode setting that is supposed to ignore that, but it doesn't seem to work. I have a fix to just clone the repo and this fixes things.
gitpython seems to be having some issues with file paths on Windows. After cloning the repo to a temp dir, I'm getting an exception when running repo.is_dirty(). Still investigating a workaround.
