Android 4.2 gesture typing doesn't work, neither does voice typing #70

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use a device with Android 4.2 such as a Nexus 4 or 7
2. Try to type on the keyboard by sliding you finger, or hit the mic button on 
the keyboard and speak
3. Nothing happens.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The expected output is for the swiped word to be typed as soon as the keyboard 
detects it, or for the speech to be typed out, since android normally 
transcribes it.

Using remotedroid (free) 1.4 on Nexus 4 running Android 4.2.1 and Ubuntu 12.10 
on the computer.

Please provide any additional information below.

Also the control key on Hacker's keyboard doesn't work, even though other keys 
like arrow keys work.
