Modengine2 save corrupted error #63

Open Blancostarz opened 2 years ago

Blancostarz commented 2 years ago

Hello, I don't know if this is the right place to ask for this as this involved toggling anti-cheat off.

I have used the Anti-cheat toggler and offline launcher to disable anti-cheat and if I launch start_protected_game.exe, anti cheat is indeed disabled but if I launch the game with modengine2, I get a save corrupted message (anti-cheat not disabled with modengine perhaps?).

What's wierd is that there is only one way I am able to even launch modengine2. If I launch launchmod_eldenring.bat, nothing happens. even if the modengine2 files are in the same location as eldenring.exe. The only way I am able to launch it is by launching powershell in admin mode, browsing to the game folder and sending the command .\modengine2_launcher.exe -c .\config_eldenring.toml

Anyone else has a similar issue?

=====

EDIT: I was able to resolve the issue. I am not sure why it did not work initially but the .bet file randomly started working now so everything was resolved. Not sure how to delete or resolve this post sorry.

Eldenring version and calibration 1.05 What are you experiencing exactly? It gives you the corupted save when you start the game? If so, you probably renamed modengine2_launcher.exe to start_protected_game.exe.

  1. Restore the original start_protected_game.exe, run anti-cheat toggler.
  2. Make sure you have modengine2 in the Elden Ring/game folder. Edit launchmod_eldenring.bat to read ".\modengine2_launcher.exe -c .\config_eldenring.toml". Do remove the "-t er" part (I might be misremembering the part you remove but just copy mine)
  3. Make sure your mods folder is named "mod" and not "mods" unless you usemod loader which some mods use. You would need to make your mod folder called "mods" instead and edit config_eldenring.toml to reflect that change in the "path=" value
  4. launch the game with launchmod_eldenring.bat

My game launches but it gives an error "Failed to save game. Save data is corrupted" after I launch using launchmod_eldenring.bat

it's because of the mod you are using some mods don't really work.

Fixed For me, Open the Game once without modloader, to create a valid savegame, and then open it up with the modengine2.

This didn't work for me, I get the issue with no save file, an unmodded save file, and a save file with only Elden Mod Loader mods. The game launches fine with Mod Engine 2 but only when there aren't any mods in the "mod" folder.

Did you solve this problem, I am having it with Convergence mod, vanilla game starts fine and creats save file, but when I launch it with mod engine it says corrupt save data, i've been trying to fix this for days

Did you manage to solve this problem? I'm going through this too and it's exhausting.

Hi i found the culprit. Its the regulation.bin. Remove that from ur mods folder and copy it from ur game folder. (Dont forget to always back up the vanilla regulation.bin)

cool the game did opened now from the launch.bat file but the mod isnt loading what i am supposed to do now?

Another culprit that i found is that even tho u have SOTE DLC if u didnt update to the latest ones. Its regulation.bin is already old and ur save will be corrupted which sucks coz that means like most mods will not last very long if Fromsoft decided to update again. And idk why they doing this now i remember post DLC like the regulation.bin is not changing therefore most mods worked. So yeah theres ur answer to that make sure u update to the latest version, Load the game if ur save still there then exit. Launch it with the bat file now.

tell me that the mod regulation.bin and the regulation in the game folder are supposed to be of same size? cause I can see that both the regulation are of diff size is this normal with the mods and vanilla or is this the issue? either way I have tried replacing both the regulations and the mod regulation doesn't works on vanilla's place

medussy commented 2 months ago

no you put the modded regulation.bin in the mod folder of modengine2. And check the mod if it uses 1.12.4 version which is the latest version. If not then you must downgrade or wait for them to update it. Which yeah it sucks coz even tho its SOTE compatible, it not really the case. Sucks as theres no overhaul mods to play yet.
