destination is an optional parameter for download function. If it's not provided, it should serve the buffer

Hi @TomasRup, thanks for this contribution.

This repo is no longer usable (see #160) so I have reopened this PR on my fork which will be used to publish a new release soon after 1 December. Cheers.
