Rewrite and unify the visual representation of diagram elements #195

What new or enhanced feature are you proposing?
Currently the visual representation of elements are not unified or designed
well. According to Moody's Physics of Notation paper, they should be
re-evaluated, documented and redesigned as necessary, with the rationale
behind changes documented in the thesis.

Some existing sources of visual styles might be the Eclipse guidelines for
icons (e.g. the differences between green, orange and purple).

What goal would this enhancement help you achieve?
More consistent visual display of elements.
