From our discussion 5th May: In order to finish the group index page:
I got this 'network' image in better resolution and cropped it a bit. I wasnt sure about the contrast so I created two 8-bit versions with different brightness/contrast.
This is what it roughly could look like: Not too bad. Maybe these colours I chose here are bit too intense though. A tad less bright would be more 'professional'.
The group index page should also have the side bar on the left with the the option to apply filters. But here the input fields would only be ‘members’ and ‘sort by. (Sorry this is not properly depicted in the mock up).

• As a user I want to easily get an overview over ‘publicly listed user groups’ so that I can quickly see if they are interesting for me. • As a user I want to easily find said overview…see ‘landingpage’ wireframe • As a user I want to find/search for publicly listed user groups so that I can find groups of people, labs or institutions which release content that is interesting to me/my research field/my interest
Search/filtering/sorting of groups: In the user groups index page user should be able to search for groups. But this search interface should be separate from search bar that we have at the top. The search in groups should return any group with a given search term: The title of the group, description of the groups and name of group admin. Sorting of groups: by date of creation, level of activity (last time panel was added), number of (public) panels.
An idea for the display of the user groups index page can be found here: https://codepen.io/tlemberger/full/OJWjvaQ
On the cards the user sees: Title, description, group admins name(s) (only display so many for which we have space..), # users, # smartfigures, button to go to the user groups page. “Hero image": This would be the first (public!) image that was shared in the group. If there are no public panels we should provide a default image. For example something along the lines of this:
