Improve panel layout in grid view #295

Right now there can be lots of empty space between panels or too little space for the panel title & authors. This should be improved by:

setting a maximum width on panels so much-wider-than-high panels don't disrupt the layout and cause swaths of empty space.
setting a minimum width on panels so the title & authors of much-higher-than-wide panels get enough space.
Restricting title & authors to one line each & reducing their font size.
