As explained in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKCKwI-bfG0, some fonts (e.g. https://github.com/tonsky/FiraCode) already support replacing e.g. -> with → , != with ≠, etc.

I just tried Hack and it doesn't seem to support it.
