need pref/toolbar button for common path prefix #13

we've got a growing number of hidden prefs that should probably get real ui
in the prefs window (issue already opened for the sdks/tests filters), but
i just added the common path prefix hiding.

Only the common prefix doesn't have ui. should probably move all the checkboxes 
in prefs to one new tab since 
they would be defaults that can be toggled per window.
