We've gotten feedback about the "perceived slowness" in loading the Sourcegraph UI, which can feel "piece-meal" instead of "snappy."

Context

There is this issue and adhoc feedback from internal stakeholders. We also brought it up in Frontend Crew on June 2, 2022.

One bit of latency that I'll note here which bothers me regularly is that the spinners for recent repos and searches on the homepage, which often take over 1 second to load. It's not a network throughput issue because the amount of data should be tiny.
