"xdotool failed with error: exit status 1" when no window is selected #74

When I have no current window selected with herbstluftwm (like on an empty workspace, or a herbstluftwm frame without a window in it), I get:

xdotool failed with error: exit status 1. Try running `xdotool getactivewindow` to diagnose.

When running xdotool getactivewindow I get:

XGetWindowProperty[_NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW] failed (code=1)
xdo_get_active_window reported an error
