Hi there, I'm sorry you're having trouble. Unfortunately my own set of lights died this year (I kept them hanging year-round and after three years the sun exposure was too much), so I'm pretty much out of the business. For now, I'd advise you to live with the hack that you discovered. If you do get curious what the problem is and figure it out, please share. Good luck! (And no, no relation.)
Thanks for getting back to me ... I'll let you know if I figure out a better solution.
I used your fantastic program for Xmas, now I'm working on Halloween. I'm using your Ticon Halloween 2012 - and the "bulb" test runs fine ... the program (I guess the program runner) only works when I "lie" about the number of nodes. I've commented out your switch between the Teensy and UNO, so the G35String is manually entered - otherwise, it is identical to your sketch (except for commenting out the lights_2 - which I'm not using, yet.
// G35String lights_1(13, 25); // OK - Why does this NOT work? // G35String lights_1(13, 25, 25, 0, true); // OK - Why does this NOT work? // It runs the full test-pattern - but none of the Halloween patterns G35String lights_1(13, 50, 50, 0, true);
Any thoughts? JGS P.S. I know a fantastic Neurologist named Jack Tsao, but probably no relation.
