I have no idea - but I would be very interested. Someone reported that the GE wifi/bluetooth are not compatible - but these might be. Would be great if they are. What does the controller look like?

Does anyone know if this library works with the color effects strands that are available today. It doesn't seem like the g35 sets are still available

I'd be surprised if they were compatible with this library. The G35 used a timing-dependent protocol that doesn't resemble any protocol used by today's mass-produced RGB LEDs (ws2812, apa102, etc.), and it doesn't appear that it ever caught on as a de facto standard.
But if anyone has the hardware that @rconn01 linked to and wants to try it, I'd be happy to be proven wrong!
