text flow issue on bubble #529

Open holgerd opened 7 years ago

holgerd commented 7 years ago

When I'm browsing the map in languages with long words (eg. french, portuguese), the text flows to the second line in the bubble and is not readable anymore.

example reported via facebook: 15875622_10211566250094129_7718086012747995771_o

french:

portuguese:

So there are a few options for tackling this:

Hi, at least in portuguese I'm trying to shrink them but it's not easy.

For example, in that bubble I have only 2 options to solve the problem:

  1. Instead translating "Partially wheelchair accessible", I could translate only "Partially accessible" --> "Parcialmente acessível" (people know it's for wheelchair in the title) but I don't know and I have to search if this string is shown in other places to see if they are shown without context.
  2. Shrink it until it fits: "Parcialm. acessiv. cadei. rodas" (this probably fits but is horrible) or the shortest "Quase acess. cadeira rodas" (a bit weird since is missing some words)

A few other options well translated but don't fit: "Parcialmente acessível a cadeira de rodas" "Ligeiramente acessível a cadeira de rodas" "Em parte acessível a cadeira de rodas" "Quase acessível a cadeira de rodas"

For a rough comparison, to fit, it shouldn't be more than the following (more or less I think): "acessível a cadeira de rodas"

It would be better to give us, if possible a bit more room on interface. Just a bit. I would choose the option "Having the bubble adapt its width." but having a limit in width of course.
