setting issue(maybe not the software issue) #25

i have the corecycler running on my newly built pc with 5800x and msi 550m. i turned on the pbo without setting the curve and also try auto setting. on both conditions i will have occured "fatal error rounding was 0.5 expected less than 0.4" i leave global c state on and every time i run corecycler and the fatal error occurs very soon. after i turn it off, it can run longer before the error shows appreciate so much if you can help

It seems that your chip may just need a higher voltage for the PBO to work correctly. Since PBO is considered overclocking and technically voids your warranty, AFAIK it's not guaranteed to always work correctly with the default settings. You can try to disable PBO altogether and check again, if it's then still throwing errors, you can try to RMA the chip. However it may also be a RAM issue, so make sure to check these for stability / set to XMP or even JEDEC spec to eliminate the memory from the possible list of failures.

thanks for your attenetion! maybe maybe maybe i think i found the cure: 1.i tried using default pbo setting (just on ) and just turned on xmp. the problem remained the same 2.i have tried swithing torture program from prime 95 to y cruncher. under the same bios setting, p95 would show errors while y cruncher will pass several round and it worked well without reboot or crash.
i think it is the p95 that has some capability issue with system.

when using pbo the frequency of CPU in Boost mode sets to +150 MHz higher than official max boost speed for CPU. However, the voltage/curve optimizer is not changed automatically. However, the more you (motherboard) higher the frequency the more you have to increase the voltage (sometimes much more than default one). So just increase the voltage curve in curve optimizer for the cores which give errors.
