CIT Layering, it might now be possible! #2122

In the newest snapshot, villagers have a layering on their texture since laying was not in the game it was harder to make it into optifine. Now that there is layering in some form in the game, could now finally be possible?

Emissive textures for items are implemented similar to layers. Technically custom CIT layers could be added.

But I guess this might be really hard to do?

I would definitely appreciate this addition. It feels like it should already be possible with CIT combined with vanilla Minecraft model layers but unfortunately those, I believe, are hard-capped based on the item.
