looks like an issue with immersive portals. Remove or disable immersive portals as their compatibility patches are not compatible. You may also try G7 rather than G8 as another issue references this on the immersive portals issue tracker
Description of Issue
I'm trying to create a modpack using the Curseforge loader. I decided to download OptiFine for the modpack so that I could get dynamic lighting. However, after following an online tutorial on how to get OptiFine for forge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC-PHDXrTC8), it seemed to just crash the game. It wouldn't even get past the initialization phase before crashing back to the launcher, giving me the "Error code: 0" message. I wanted to see if it was a problem with OptiFine or if one of my mods was conflicting with it, so I emptied my mod folder and put in only OptiFine. This didn't produce a crash, so I know it has to be a mod conflict. Though I don't know which one is causing it.
Steps to Reproduce
OptiFine Version
this is the name of the OptiFine file I used: OptiFine 1.16.5 HD U G8
Installation Method
Installed by dropping the .jar file into the mod folder.
Fabric/Forge Version
using forge version 36.1.32
Other Installed Mods
I don't use Pastebin all that often so I don't know if I've done it right but this should be a complete list of all the mods I have in my modpack: https://pastebin.com/BWseF3t6
Log Files/Crash Reports
For some reason, github wouldn't let me drag and drop the files like normal so I've put the contents of my lates.log file into Pastebin. Also, this issue does not seems to have created a crash report, the latest report in the folder is from a few days ago before I first tried to use OptiFine with my modpack. latest.log: https://pastebin.com/KndcsFv0
F3 Debug Screenshot
Minecraft's debug screen is unavailable for this issue as I am unable to launch the game.
Prior Testing
-this issue doesn't happen with just OptiFine and forge, it only happens when I have the mods in my modpack. -the OptiFine standalone file also works perfectly fine. -this doesn't happen in vanilla Minecraft -I have not preformed a binary search yet but I plan to as soon as I have the time, I will update with a comment if I find the culprit
Additional Information
I mostly followed someone else's mod list for the mods I downloaded and he was able to run OptiFine alongside the mods he had downloaded, so I doubt the problem is that one of the mods is completely incompatible, but it is entirely possible so I plan to keep looking until I find out more.
