Two questions:
1: Does renaming the mcpatcher folder to optifine fix it 2: When you say normal Minecraft, do you mean standalone OptiFine (like you stated in the installation method)? Vanilla/normal Minecraft does not support emissives.
Renaming the folder to Optifine made emissives work for me however removed my CTM and CIT and custom sky (so everything except emissives) Making a seperate folder named optifine next to mcpatcher and putting emissive.properties in there alone fixed it, and kept my other Optifine textures.
Description of Issue
emissve textures arent working in 1.8 for items only. i tested it in newer versions there it worked, i tested it in lunar and in normal minecraft and i reinstalled miencraft. same result. the discord said i should go here. this is also for 1.12 i tested it later.
Steps to Reproduce
i am making a glow in the dark texture pack in 1.8, i am using emissive textures to create the glow in the dark effect and use light maps to make it seem dark. but while trying to get all emissive textures in place i wanted to add some emissive textures to items, but it didnt work, i edited a emerald texture so that only the outline was light green and saved it as emerald_e.png in the textures/items but when i go in the game the emissive texture wasnt working, i asked around, also in the discord, they said its a bug after i tested it in 1,18 were it worked and reinstalled the game.
OptiFine Version
1.8/1.8.9
Installation Method
i used the installer to install optifine.
