[Block Loading] Blocks are invisible for a short time #7015

Blocks are invisible after their creating. The blocks were only rendered after a few seconds (at least 10 seconds) after they were created, or after you activated third person or zoomed. Unfortunately, this makes playing some game modes almost impossible and has already been a problem for several versions of OptiFine.

If an example is needed, I'm happy to do an IP or video of a server where I have a game mode that's being affected by it.

Having the same issue, took a screenshot to show what's happening. It sometimes doesn't update immediately when building into a chunk. I saw a reddit post that said turning render regions off fixed it but it didn't work for me. 2022-07-22_22 09 01

Try changing the chunk builder setting from threaded to semi-blocking or full-blocking. As this is a common issue with versions 1.18 and above (This is also happens a lot in vanilla). Doing F3+A should also help.

Setting chunk builder to fully-blocking and disabling render regions fixed it for me. Thanks

Tried it as well but it's still not working. It's definitely an optifine issue because I couldn't reproduce it in vanilla. Glad you got it fixed though.

Try setting Chunk Updates to 2 or 3 and enable Dynamic Chunk Updates If it's still not fixed try reducing biome blend radius to 3x3 or Off

Tried all of these and it still didn't work. Thing is it's pretty inconsistent with how long the blocks stay invisible. Like sometimes it takes half a second while other times I have to reload chunks or look in the other direction for it to update. It doesn't really break the game it's just really irritating when it consistently happens.

Edit: also tried installing the new preview and it's also broken

It may actually be a real Optifine issue.

Update: It's still an issue in the latest release, even when using forge

Been having the same issue for the past few versions. I've had to use other alternatives like Fabric but I want to use forge lol.
