Dropping the jar into the mods folder. using curseforge launcher

If you've installed standalone: Q: Does this happen in Vanilla without OptiFine? A: no

If you've installed using Forge/Fabric: Q: Does this happen without other mods installed? A: yes Q: Does this happen without any mods at all?

• Only Forge/Fabric by itself. A: no Q: Does this happen in OptiFine standalone? A: yes
  • Does this happen in Vanilla without OptiFine? A: no Q: Have you tried using a binary search to find which mods cause this issue? A: yes
• Does the issue still happen with only the remaining mods installed? A: yes Q: Forge/Fabric and remaining mods, without OptiFine A: still crashes

Conclusion: Optifine is the sole cause of the issue

When downloading past instances and applying my current texture pack, some block textures don't render properly
