[Bug] Cherry tree saplings aren't growing in Cherry biome #7530

I've been gathering cherry wood and was planning to replant the saplings in the cherry biome and noticed they weren't growing. I grabbed bone meal and used an entire stack on a single sapling and it still wouldn't grow - sapling was completely unobstructed and should've grown after the standard 1-4 bone meal.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Locate/enter cherry grove biome
  2. Gather and plant sapling
  3. Attempt to bone meal

1.20.1

the included standalone installer

no other mods in use

Log Files/Crash Reports

crashed after restarting: -1073741819

Prior Testing

Does not happen in vanilla

tested on the newest 1.20.1 prerelease on a single biome world set to cherry grove and the sapling grew without a problem check in vanilla in the exact same spot as when you tried with Optifine. if it still happens then the sapling is probably somehow obstructed
