Description of Issue

The recent update to Optifine for 1.18.2 (H9) causes Minecraft with Curseforge 40.1.0 to crash on startup.

Steps to Reproduce

Put 1.18.2 H9 into mod folder for Curseforge. Tell it to play.

OptiFine Version

1.18.2 (H9)

Installation Method

Dropped the JAR into the mods folder

Fabric/Forge Version

Curseforge 40.1.0

Other Installed Mods

No other mods installed

Log Files/Crash Reports

Prior Testing

If you've installed using Forge/Fabric:

• Does this happen without any mods at all?

  • Only Forge/Fabric by itself. YES

• Does this happen in OptiFine standalone? Don't know

• Does this happen in Vanilla without OptiFine? No

Additional Information

I reverted to H7 and it worked fine, so it must be something to do with the difference between H7 and H9

The download page says that version is compatible with Forge 40.2.9. Have you tried upgrading Forge?

1.18 is not a supported version. Use the latest version of OptiFine for the latest fixes and forge versions.
