Style: sessions in READMEs should indicate `bash` or `console` in markdown #112

The code snippets in the READMEs that refer to commands to type in a terminal should indicate the some shell in Markdown so that Github renders those bits correctly. We can use bash or sh or console.

I saw a comment from @EzraBrooks asking @sea-bass to put these two changes together with #110 . Given that this was our request, I don't want to burden @sea-bass unnecessarily with too much granularity. I'm editing #110 to include these changes and closing this issue in favor of #110.
