Somehow grinders can proc mousetraps and disappear. Possibly other items as well.

Ok putting my foot down on this constant bs

Mouse traps need to check that the thing stepping on them is actually a mob. This breaks every few months because it will just obliterate any entity with a low mass and it makes no goddamm sense.
