i have a ton in low pop maps but i can put some more in higher pop maps
i think issue with them is you cant prioritize specific machines a lot of powernets use more than 5kw so youd need a multitool + tray to easily find a good place to put one, at that point just go fix the actual issue with power
Letting them produce slightly more power might increase their usage as well. Basically what Delta is saying that it's really hard to power a room with just 3kw, and you have to start unwrenching everything which is cumbersome.
I feel like there are a lot already, personally.
They're very map-knowledge dependent though, which is an issue
Like no tool room in any map has JR and above PACMANs; Core teases us with two near the tool room (one in maints, another in engineering-only area next door)
Fun fact: Meta has two PACMANs in medical maints (one right next to virology, another in storage room below maints bar)
Sci also needs to get its head out from beneath to flatpack some generators

the normal kind of pacmans arent supposed to be in maints iirc

Rip Core's maints PACMANs
But yeah we need JR PACMANs to be clustered and in familiar areas in maints and tool rooms, rather than being in the middle of nowhere and requiring good memory as opposed to intuition
I don't know which map it is, but at least one map puts them inside the substations, i.e. behind engineering access requirement. Which is completely against the point.

Atlas does this.
The mapping checklist should probably mention how these are supposed to be mapped. It only mentions the regular and super pacmans.
i dont even remember mapping pacmen  not my fault
While it's great they can power rooms with 8 kw generation, they really need to be more accessible and visible instead of memorising which dark area of maints they're in
To clarify my earlier point, they should be near maints doors, placed in tool rooms or clustered in visibly bright areas/near existing maints lockers and canisters
Another point is how common should they be? Like one room for each department or every room on the station?
Description
played a couple rounds now with major power outages and people almost never seem to use jr pacmans to remedy it. maybe there needs to be some in tool storage? or they need to be easier to pull? guidebook entry already exists but maybe we need a tip as well
