Death acidifier implant deletes Nuke Disk #30665

Open Quantx opened 1 month ago

Description

Death Acidifier implant deletes Nuke Disk on death resulting in a soft-lock for nuke rounds. Given that Death Acidifiers are standard issue to nuke teams most players will almost always use them as they are probably not aware that this is mechanic exists. It should also mention that this can theoretically be abused by Nukie trolls to prevent a Syndicate victory.

Reproduction

  1. Implant character with death acidifier and equip a nuclear authentication disk.
  2. Activate the implant either manually or through death.
  3. Observe that the nuclear authentication disk has been destroyed.

The following is a link to a round where this happened: https://replay.unstablefoundation.de/replay/28902 Operator Romeo dies and acidifies disk on tick 56963

the nuke disk respawns at a random tile whenever it gets deleted

I played a round yesterday where this issue occurred. I was a ghost at the time and did not see the disk on the dead Nukie's body. Additionally, pressing the option to warp to the nuke disk from the ghost menu did nothing. This would indicate to me that the disk was deleted.

The disk respawning on a random tile seems more like a fail-safe mechanism than good gameplay functionality for when this situation occurs. As a Nukie player I would expect to find the disk on the corpse of the person carrying it instead of on a random tile somewhere on the station.

This is somewhat related to #22308 it might be worth creating a list of items the Death Acidifier doesn't delete.

it respawns on a random tile not where they died

also ghost warp has to be reopened to update

Its probably possible to make it unparent from something when that something is deleted, that way it would also work for containers and stuff, but weh.
