Ei Nath sucks #9674

It just gibs someone when being clicked, it's not even interesting as a spell and being on the receiving end is bad. I know wizards are supposed to be strong but at least make it good.

Perhaps let one clone brains? "Gibs target" is whole premise of it. Gonna suck if you did not have cloner prescan.

OldDanceJacket commented 2 years ago

The entire point of the spell is to be an insta-gib threat to make people actually fear the Wizard, the 'balance' of the brain left behind is simply a missing feature. The Book is also not a good rep for the spell as the CD is very low, when on TG it's a base of a minute while also requiring the robe and hat.

The intent of the Wizard is they're 1 v 64 and overpowered to handle that, while also being rare, and have a lot of options. The threat of EI NATH is part of that balance, the fact that they can just instagib you should make folks fear and be hostile to a wizard(even if the Wizard doesn't choose that spell). They should not to be trusted in the slightest, and folks dressing up and pretending to be wizards will not be as funny/harmless as it is rn.

It should stay.

/tg/ isn't balanced in the slightest from what little I've seen of it.

You can make a 1 v 64 interesting without an autoclick killer. Nukies manage to do it with 6 vs 59.

OldDanceJacket commented 2 years ago

Not saying TG is balanced, I was giving balance considerations towards the spell that are missing right now, Paradise for example on their wiki makes it plain that EI NATH doesn't work when stunned or cuffed, and is also 60 seconds on the cd.

Disregarding that Wizard isn't supposed to be 'balanced' and they're supposed to be a wizard; What actually is your argument? EI NATH is uninteresting gameplay because it gibs people when the Wizard walks up to them and presses the button? What about nocturne for the traitor who can be dressed up as anyone? Or What about current Fireball; The one that oneshots anyone on a direct hit while also doing collateral to anyone in that area?

What exactly are you implying you want from Wizards here because it dictates what spells and content are added further on?

Again, I think it's fine and we should have more fun and chaotic spells and really stress that wizards aren't your friend.

I was thinking that perhaps, instead of Ei'nath, we could give them something like Midas touch and turn people into gold. Maybe still clonable but bulky to move and the body is sellable for cargo

not opposed to making it more interesting, the basic behavior does suck
