Assigning this question to Rich cause not sure who best to answer. I'm just looking at the user registrations on the portal. I wanted to check the total number of legit registered users. There are over 400 in there but 120 are blocked. What determines a "block" status? A quick look at some of the entries, they definitely are bots. However I did see a real one under block which I unblocked. I wanted to know for sure that blocked ones are all bad and that I can just do a batch delete of the accounts to clean up. Any insight?

Thanks, Emeline

We left this a bit longer than we should have without dealing with it.

IIRC, we had an account spam problem, which did seem to be ameliorated by QuestyCaptcha. When QC was implemented, I think a dev put accounts into blocked state on their best guess?

I'm guessing that, because if you or I did it, we would have deleted the accounts, but a contractor would want us to review them.

So I consider the accounts in blocked state to be suspected spam accounts that SB staff need to review.

We should unblock the accounts that are legit, and delete the accounts that are not. Hopefully we can unblock a few accounts individually, then delete in bulk all the rest. I think that is how this will go down.

@epaatdahlstrom Do you want to take a pass at unblocking anything that looks legit to you, and then we can look at deleting the rest?
