Low bandwidth start page with all site sections - for discussion

Reasoning:

• Faster loading
• Faster understanding of nav and site contents

Balaji and I discussed a low-bandwidth version - suggested home page redesign:

1) Quickly load the menu items and no big images. Top Menu instead of grid menu: People | Orgs | Events | Blogs | News | Projects | Videos | Wiki | About

2) Below that: A list of the recent items in events and news, followed by other content types.

3) Below that: A single discussion board for everything.

We might even make a tabbed version of the front page in react, with a stream under each tab - quick view-only version of the site.
