Teleport item Pipes inexplicably disappear #159

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Randomly exiting game and restarting
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Pipes should remain, yet disappear, still leaving an "artifact" visible in the
screenshot,no connection is possible

What version are you using?

3.1.0

Please provide your Console/ModLoader output below.

I attached the txt file due to the comment being too long.

Please provide any additional information below.

I have had to recreate all teleport pipes several times, the block ID is always
the same so I know it has not changed.I went back to a previous save where the
pipes exist and the ID is the same as the save where they have disappeared! I
love the pipes but this is driving me crazy!!

Please provide any screenshots you feel would help demonstrate this
issue/feature.

I second this bug. I too am using 3.1.0 and on three occasions now I have lost
two pipes each. They just disappear leaving only a box outline in their place
which has to be broken off before new pipes can be installed. I've attached my
Modloader.txt and screenshot to in case it will help.

I used MCEdit to get the current block data from two teleport pipes. One that
is currently normal and one that is in the disappeared condition. See the
picture file: Block_Data.png

It sounds like the problem is with the chunks not staying loaded. Basic
solution is to place teleport tethers down to keep the chunk loaded while your
away. See this thread:

I don't buy that. I would have to have chunkloader blocks in a hundred places,
which would lag the hell out of my game, making the mod worthless. Also I
reverted back to additional pipes 3.0.7 and IT DOES NOT HAPPEN!! Only when I
upgrade to 3.1.0 do they disappear.
Any other suggestions?

I also find that unlikely. I have chunkloaders all over the place (Specifically
anchors from railcraft because they look better than teleport tethers) and my
teleport pipes still keep vanishing. I've used "display loaded chunks" and
verified that all my missing teleporters are within force loaded chunks. It
seems to happen only on save/load. Note that nothing is going through these
pipes on save/load. Some of them are connected to Logistics pipes, but some are
not, and both types have still disappeared. I'm now trying teleport tethers on
top of every single teleport pipe I have hoping that they won't mess up.
I can't say for certain that it's teleport pipes, though, because I have a ton
of other mods installed. Maybe it's because I've set up residence in a
mystcraft age? Maybe logistics pipes are messing it up? I really can't say.

I have teleport tethers near every pipe that I use and *still* get this
problem. That is not the solution. This bug is so frustrating That I think I'll
have to just stop using the pipes.

Always clicking set seems to have fixed it. Testing this more now.
