I like the idea of having all the judge photos in sepia tone. I tried using Google filters as an easy, reproducible way to get an old timey effect, not sure we want to try it for all of them:
Alrighty, I'll resend it with the Google filter.
Okay, only if you think it looks good
I haven't had a chance to review this PR entirely, I will have to get back to you tonight
A thought for a different PR, could play around with using this font for the section headers: http://www.fontsplace.com/archive-copperplate-head-regular-premium-font-download.html
@spacemunkay Ah, yes, I like that font. I'm a little wary of putting > 2 fonts on a page (though we should see if it works), but I certainly don't think the current font (ringmaster) would scale well to section headers. I'm also not emotionally attached to ringmaster, and not opposed to nixing ringmaster and using your suggestion for all headers.
I agree, too many fonts could get ugly, trial and error will likely be the only way to decide.
I might be getting a bit elaborate here but I thought adding a frame around each of the prizes so they like they're hanging on a wall (like a displayed prize) might break up the list look we have going. I'll try it and see your thoughts:
(Utilizing a darker, more fitting to the color-scheme, frame)
Squashed this merge request into one commit (also removed extra files) and committed to dev branch: https://github.com/spacemunkay/baltimorehackathon/commit/9b0226ea71ce96b16de6d09fe23d623dd21d7dbe
At present the Sign-up link has been turned into a clickable jpeg until we can sort out the issue below:
The main issue is the next not aligning properly in Mozilla for the "Sign-Up!" link and my guess is the issue can be remedied by adding Mozilla specific appendages to the "flag" class in the layout.scss file.
The background image could probably benefit from a slight margin shift to the right.
