Triage B7.4 CAL bug reports from DMS #4257

Issue JP-1137 was created by Howard Bushouse:

Triage bug reports from DMS testing of CAL 0.14.0 and 0.14.1 during the B7.4 I&T phase.

Comment by Howard Bushouse: Responded to JWSTDMS-238 and JWSTDMS-239, indicating that the partial levels of processing for calibration and target acq exposures is by design.

Comment by Howard Bushouse: CAL 0.14.2 complete_medium_02 (Nov 18-19):

950-UnsupportedOperandTypes - Same problem as documented in JP-1114, which is a problem with the assignment of APERNAME values in SDP level-1 processing for NIRCam exposures taken on multiple detectors (but aperture applies to a different detector). Not a CAL problem.

990-BadRefFileSliceIndexes - Bad reference file extraction indexes when trying to match readnoise ref file data to the science data for a NIRSpec NRS2 subarray exposure in the jump step. Bad SUBSTRTn corner values in the level-1 input product. Not a CAL problem.

226-CalMissingInputFile: A lot of wfs-image2 and wfs-image3 runs failed with an error indicating that the input asn file was missing. A spot check of a few of them shows them to be in the expected directory, along with the rate and cal products used as input.

815-UnsupportedOperandTypes: Error in calwebb_spec3 outlier_detection for IFU exposures. Known problem. JP-1117

842-MissingExtractionParams: calwebb_spec3 error processing NRS_FIXEDSLIT exposure with 1-slit subarray. Known problem. JP-1144

904-InvalidFrameShape: MIRI images with MRS aperture listed. Needs to be solved in SDP, for correct APERNAME.

950-UnsupportedOperandTypes: NIRCam images with wrong or missing APERNAME. Needs to be solved in SDP.

953-IndexOutOfRange: calwebb_wfs-image3 error. CAL can't reproduce. See JP-1121

962-UnsupportedOperandTypes: calwebb_tso3 error on TSIMAGE exposures, due to missing X/YSCI_REF keywords, which is in turn due to APERNAME='UNKNOWN'. See JP-1122

unknown-1: Missing MSAMETFL for NIRSpec calwebb_spec2.

unknown-2: calwebb_spec2 procesing for NIS_WFSS. No useable grism objects saved from catalog (all off image). Garbage data.

unknown-7: Memory error on NIRCam TSO when calling get_calib_recipe.py in SDP

unknown-8: Memory error in calwebb_tso1 on NIRCam TSO

unknown-9: Memory error in calwebb_tso1 on NIRCam TSO

unknown-10: Memory error (killed) in calwebb_tso1 on NIRCam TSO

unknown-11: File exists error when calwebb_spec2 trying to save output cal product

unknown-12: calwebb_image3 errors in tweakreg due to no images with sources. See JP-1140

unknown-14: calwebb_detector1 error determining best ref

unknown-15: calwebb_detector1 error processing NRS_LAMP exposure due to READPATT='ALLIRS2' in reference file 

jwst_nirspec_superbias_0117.fits

unknown16: calwebb_spec2 error processing NRS_IFU exposure somewhere in flat_field step. Log is truncated. No error messages.

843-ErrDeterminingBestRef: Error selecting photom ref file for NIS_FOCUS exposures. NIS_FOCUS not included in CRDS rmap entries.

950-UnsupportedOperandTypes: NIRCam images with wrong or missing APERNAME. Needs to be solved in SDP.

962-UnsupportedOperandTypes: calwebb_tso3 error on TSIMAGE exposures, due to missing X/YSCI_REF keywords, which is in turn due to APERNAME='UNKNOWN'. See JP-1122

unknown-1: Error reading photom reference file for NRC_FOCUS exposures during calwebb_image2 processing, due to selection of old photom ref files that use an obsolete format. CRDS needs to remove old photom ref files and add NRC_FOCUS to EXP_TYPE selection criteria. See JWSTDMS-258.

unknown-2: calwebb_image3 errors in tweakreg due to no images with sources. See JP-1140.

JP-1117 - calwebb_spec3 outlier_detection error for multi-channel/band IFU data (both NIRSpec and MIRI)

JP-1140 - calwebb_image3 tweakreg error for images with no sources

JP-1144 - calwebb_spec3 extract_1d error for NIRSpec single-slit exposure (missing meta data)

JP-1152 - calwebb_spec3 combine_1d error for NIRISS WFSS exposures
