Implement centroiding / tracing for TSO data #6544

Open stscijgbot-jp opened 2 years ago

stscijgbot-jp commented 2 years ago

Issue JP-2374 was created on JIRA by Anton Koekemoer:

A significant issue for TSO measurements is the impact of jitter from one exposure to the next, which can cause shifts in the spectral and spatial directions. There is therefore a need to measure and correct for these shifts, both in the spectral direction to improve wavelength accuracy, and in the spatial direction to improve photometric accuracy.

The TSO WG will be considering algorithms to achieve this, and they will update this ticket once they have sufficiently well developed algorithms in hand that they would like to propose for implementation in the pipeline.

Comment by Anton Koekemoer on JIRA:

This was first discussed in JWST Cal WG Meeting 2022-01-04 and will be further followed up by the TSO WG, who will update this ticket once they have sufficiently well developed algorithms in hand that they would like to propose for implementation in the pipeline.
