As suggested by @stscieisenhamer in https://github.com/ejeschke/ginga/issues/52#issuecomment-301615479 . Also see ejeschke/ginga#52

@stscieisenhamer , do we have a use for image server? I don't even know what it is supposed to be used for in a Ginga use case. So, is it sufficient to add only catalog defaults? Please advise.
