Some pretty major changes were made to these files. I refactored the functions to work on a target-by-target / directory-by-directory basis.
I haven't tested these extensively, just that they do not throw any python errors when run with -h. Once this is merged, I can make the appropriate changes in the DP directory and do some real testing :)
