Add-on disappeared from Chrome Canary, reinstall fails #269

To my big surprise, today when I opened the Apps-tab in Chrome, Advanced Rest 
Client had disappeared from the list. Trying to reinstall the add-on fails.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open app store
2. Click add to Chrome
3. Error message appears

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output is successful install. Install fails with error "There was a 
problem adding the item to Chrome. Please refresh the page and try again" with 
no further details.

On what operating system, browser and browser version?

Mac OS X 10.8.5, Chrome Canary 39.0.2137.2 64-bit.

Please provide any additional information below.

this is ridiculous. it just dissapeared. i had bunch tons of saved messages and 
now they are just gone!!

Disapeared after upgrade from Chrome 38.x to 39.0.2171.65

Had this problem before, but now I can't install it again as it tells me that 
it cant add addon, to refresh and try again on chrome plugins list.

It did happen to me Windows 8.1 I have chrome v 39.0.2171.65 m I think it 
happened when I upgraded to this version

Same issue. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome, logging out and in, no 
change. Advanced REST client is gone and I cannot reinstall it. I use it daily, 
I need it back ASAP.

I too am getting this problem - Yesterday Advanced Rest Client (ARC) was 
working fine, today it is gone from my apps tab.  I have not loaded any new 
software, and have not upgraded any.  I am on Windows 7, Chrome Version 
39.0.2171.65 m.  When I try to re-install ARC by clicking on the "+ FREE" 
button, it changes very quickly to say "CHECKING", then changes back to 
"+FREE", and I get the message "There was a problem adding the item to Chrome. 
Please refresh the page and try again."  Reloading and trying again produces 
the same disappointing result.

I am also facing the same problem - I lost all my saved files. Yesterday 
Advanced Rest Client (ARC) was working fine, today it is gone from my apps tab. 
 I didnt install any new software but still i see the same error meessage

The same issue (ARC is gone and failing to be re-installed). I'm on Windows 7 
Professional, Chrome version - 39.0.2171.65 
It was just fine on 11.20.2014 and it's gone on 11.21.2014. I've used it daily 
for the past several weeks. It's a great tool. I want it back!!!

Today, using chrome version 39.0.2171.65 m (64-bit), Advanced REST client 
suddenly appear.
