No traces if application is added to aws AppMesh #39

I can generate application traces following the instructions here. However when I am adding the application to service mesh (aws AppMesh) the application traces are not generated anymore.

Has anyone tried setting up a service mesh and still able to see traces from the application?

I can see traces from envoy but the application trace is not there.
