Is this program still being maintained here? #19

Hi.

This git repository is upstream for the nodm package in debian, https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/nodm .

I notice there are several opened and even trivial pull requests, and several issues with no feedback. This make me wonder, is the nodm program still being maintained here?

nodm is still being unmaintained here. See #8 :)

I'm not aware so far of anyone taking over development in another repository: if it happened, it hasn't been announced anywhere I could have see it. I would be very happy if somebody did.

Aha. Thank you for the reference. Good to know, though a bit sad.

nI guess this explain why the Debian patches from <URL: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/nodm/tree/master/debian/patches > have not yet been applied. :)

Yup. I'm not using nodm and gave up working on it. I'm not the Debian maintainer, either.

I like that it exists, though and I'd like it to move out of my non-maintenance and into the world.

moved from #18

I just dropped @softlab a note via his nodm fork on Github. The nodm display manager is in deep need for another upstream maintainer. I pinged @softlab if he'd be willing to step up for this job. It needs someone who uses nodm on a regular basis and who encounters errors when they pop up.

Neither @spanezz nor myself (@sunweaver) are maintaining nodm actively anymore. I have also stopped using it (because I lack the customer use cases these days). But, still, I think that nodm fills a gap in the display manager universe.

i am using nodm in VenenuX devuan edition.. i made some patches and made a package.. but i dont use shitstemd.. i can sent issues and if i found way to son hints also patches. or tricks .. i am using it on debian 8, debian 9 and debian 11 .. my plan is to used in debina 6 and debian 5 .. i will try to backport some patches and the nopam setup for alpine and if were work i will report here.. first of all i only do for debian setups and later for alpine..
