Matrix Server:

• OS: Debian 12
• Architecture AMD64

• Problem description:

I just installed, and ever service appears to be on and started, but I can't communicate with any other server. I ran my domain through the federation tester and got a MatchingServerName error. WHen I try to query the matrix.org public rooms I get this error:

You're supposed to run edgerunner.xyz through the federation tester, not matrix.edgerunner.xyz.

For federation to work, you need to set up well known delegation as documented in docs/configuring-well-known.md.

when I ran the base domain through it wasn't able to find it, I totally forgot about setting up the well-known
